man that was 2007 gone, just like that hell im turning 20 this year what the?!
anyhoooooo 2007 has been a weird year starting uni meeting new people etc... but then 2008 sounds like a good year ahead :D
recent updates -
still no internet in my flat (aaarrrgghhhh) still internet cafe-ing to blog (how gay)
a friend passed away :( R.I.P. to you my love your spirit will remain
i bought 2 more books (o yes) past the half point mark of reading this book, starting to give up tho coz i've renewed this book like 3 times and still havent finished it (its so long and theoretical...and takes so long to sink in coz its so informative)
"Reflection in Learning and Professional Development: Theory and Practice" my current laptop thats been through all ups and downs with me in the past 4 years is finally gonna be replaced by a MacBook Pro ladies and gentleman in ur face!!
anyhow, the 2 new books... #1 "Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite" by Paul Arden still ever so inspiring and i really recommend it #2 "Wall and Piece" by Banksy ok i'll admit it its not really a book book its more like a picture book but its well worth its value imagination and possibilities are endless - all you gotta do is break that box you got put in the minute you were born
one of the least christmassy christmas i've ever had in my life
i did the usual thing and went and took pictures or pretty lights and happy couples walking along wearing weird ass christmas hats looking like idiots but here are some nice chrismassy pictures anyways... but then it felt so empty because suddenly it occured to me that christmas isnt how it used to be when i was a kid
back then i didnt have to do lots for a christmas, i'd be happy with a big meal and a few presents - time went by and views differed, even if i get showered by gifts it still means nothing nowadays, thats sad.
but then again, i had a funeral lined up so i guess thats where the sad bit came from
anyways, being the unique me that i am i went skating with some friends instead and damn sweet jesus im proud to announce that im getting a new laptop that works after xmas as Ive decided
there are days when u feel like doing jack all days u feel empty and just wanna sleep days u feel happy and wanna party days u feel intelligent for who you are
it was one of those for me today(woohoo)
to show how strongly i felt my intelligent-ness should take me to another level of knowledge (and more intelligence...) i went to a book shop
after some time i picked out the following two books, adding to my own lil' library
addition number 1
"It's not how good you are, it's how good you want to be."
i cannot stress how much i admire paul arden(author of this book, duh) for his ingenious ways of reasoning and best of it all - how he pulls it off with mountains of smaller reasons
on the other hand tho, i thought it kinda tied in with the whole reflective thinking and successful practice idea so it gave me an excuse to buy another book that is 'useful' seeing as my dad is so fed up with me buying all these books that he calls 'garbage' - well dad, u and i are very different species altogether...
i can't wait to start reading it to be completely honest
addition number 2
(i've failed to find a picture for it and can't be bothered to take and upload right now so deal with it)
'Tasteful Color Combination'
well you see, the problem with this book is that it isn't one that you read, it's one that you use for references. No, not ones that you refer to in your essays, ones that are for referencing. that's right, its not really a readable book
its a book full of different color combinations - it's a book designers find very useful. 'The book features 14 chapters divided by different emotions (of major classifications), 46 different tastes that produce these emotions(intermediate classification), and a further 455 combinations of tastes'
so you see, it's more like a color combination bible that i'm sure will come in handy - it's just one of those things that stays useful for like, as long as you live
time to tuck into my new book, thank god for ur existence paul arden
tho it may be holiday for me, but it certainly isn't the case with my camera just went down to chill with some mates and did some shooting...its all good but damn i wish santa knows i want a DV for christmas it'd be soooooo much better
